OUR APPROACH

Health and safety

There is nothing we care more about than making sure we all go home safe and well at the end of the working day. The standards and processes we developed and implemented have helped us to achieve industry leading health, safety and environmental performance.

Our 2023 performance:

ZERO

injuries - our H&S vision

0.92

all injury frequency rate – our lowest ever recorded

5 million

hours worked - more than ever before

53,955

positive safety interventions made – every one preventing a potential incident

Our employees are our greatest asset and our Health & Safety Strategy builds on our collective initiatives over the past few years; we want our people to be involved and work to our platinum rule that says ‘if we cannot do it safely, we will not do it.’

Ownership

Key to the strategy is that everyone takes ownership for their teams', their colleagues' and their own health and safety.

The intention is to continue to harness the genuine desire of our people to work safely and give them a clear direction, clear standards, clear responsibilities and common goals.

Challenge

We challenge our people to positively intervene in health and safety, working in an open and transparent way to report unsafe acts and conditions to improve awareness and drive continuous improvements.

Workforce engagement

We continually reinforce safety messages through numerous health and safety initiatives, such as our site Golden Rules and QES communications programme, all with the aim of driving further improvements as we continue towards our goal of zero injuries.
