Virtual reality

Virtual reality

We are using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to place our teams and clients into our 3D design models, allowing them to virtually navigate and communicate with each other prior to any construction. Integrating VR into project design and delivery is helping us to better understand challenges on site as well as those faced by our client’s operational staff after we’ve handed over the constructed asset.

Case study: Embsay Water Treatment Works

At Embsay Water Treatment Works (WTW) we used the latest VR headsets and software to present design options for the dosing lance arrangement and removal process to the client's project engineer. The VR allowed the team to visualise how operatives would be able to physically access the instruments once built and choose the design that was easiest for operation, therefore ensuring that the design choice was right first time.
