  • Mott MacDonald Bentley supports local communities at Christmas

Over the festive period, colleagues from across Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) have been organising charitable activities to give back to local communities – part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach to supporting society and charitable giving. Highlights from colleagues across the country include teams based in the Midlands, who raised over £1400 for two local organisations: Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Dougie Mac Hospice. The teams hosted two Christmas-themed fundraisers for the charities – where all colleagues got involved by competing in a Christmas jumper competition. Dougie Mac is based just down the road from MMB's Strongford site and provides all hospice services free of charge to adults, young adults and children living with a life-limiting illness, also offering supportive care for their families and carers. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a specialist paediatric centre delivering advanced and complex treatments to over 100,000 children and young people. In the North East, at Springwell - where MMB is engineering a £53m reservoir with Northumbrian Water - colleagues chose to support the Nite Light Charity after being inspired by a Facebook post seeking support to help the homeless. This led to the team getting creative - making sleeping bag linings from recycled crisp packets. It’s a meticulous process: each crisp packet is carefully cleaned, dried, and ironed with greaseproof paper, then fortified with recycled plastic. This innovative initiative goes beyond recycling - it's a commitment to sustainability and providing comfort to those in need. Through its continued CSR approach, the company aims to make a positive difference by giving back to the communities in which it works, by providing skills, time and expertise to support community projects – and these Christmas initiatives are a great example of this. • Success for MMB and JBA Bentley after two big wins at British Construction Industry awards

Mott MacDonald Bentley and JBA Bentley have enjoyed a successful night at the prestigious British Construction Industry Awards (BCIAs). JBA Bentley’s project at Mill Fleam Pumping Station was named Environmental Project of the Year, with the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) – on which MMB is a key partner - scooping the Carbon Net Zero Initiative of the Year Award. The BCIAs celebrate the built environment sector, recognising excellence in project delivery and the hard work of clients, architects, designers, and contractors. JBA Bentley’s Mill Fleam Pumping Station project was named Environmental Project of the Year. The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (on which MMB is a key partner) also won the prestigious Carbon Net Zero Initiative of the Year Award. The ambitious project is creating hundreds of kilometres of interconnecting mains and associated pumping equipment, to ensure the region is resilient to the risk of drought by securing water supplies for future generations.
