JN Bentley has a long history of working with Rolls-Royce, and have recently been appointed to a new framework. The works pictured at a scheme in Derby consisted of two phases. Phase 1 incorporated the construction of a new ‘dispatch gantry’ extension with heavy duty concrete floor slabs and new overhead gantry cranes, as well as the upgrade and modification of an existing access road. Phase 2 consisted of the re-cladding of the existing production test facility building, general civils works to the structure of the production facility, and the installation of a monorail hoist system, plus significant mechanical and electrical installations.

In addition to this, a new ‘Multipack’ facility was constructed for the packing and distribution of the end product. As these works were carried out within a ‘food production environment’, extremely high standards of cleanliness were required throughout the construction process and the final design incorporated hygienic inner wall surfaces and hygienic specification doors.

We have maintained our presence in the commercial and industrial building sector with a long-standing relationship with ‘blue chip’ client Procter & Gamble (P&G). P&G’s site in London is a busy 24/7 ‘live’ operational site where we have delivered a number of schemes. First, we constructed a new 76-space car park and express way before beginning an eye-catching project constructing a 300m-long elevated enclosure erected 5m off the ground to allow truck parking below. Two conveyors were installed within the enclosure to transport pallets of finished P&G products across the site.

We also constructed a new two-storey MCC building together with new access roads. All construction was carried out with the added complexity of minimising disruption to on-going site activity as the existing facility remained fully operational throughout the project.
